MIPS 2022 Data Submission Deadline Extended Until March 31, 2023 - PractieForces

The New Extended MIPS 2022 Data Submission Deadline

If you own or manage a medical practice, you must have heard that CMS extended the ‘MIPS Extreme and Uncontrollable Circumstances Application Deadline for the Performance Year 2022’ until March 31, 2023. The 2022 performance year is the last year for an additional MIPS 2022 adjustment for exceptional performance.

Penalty for Not Meeting the MIPS 2022 Submission Deadline

The failure to meet this deadline would mean a negative payment adjustment of -9% in 2024. The performance threshold is now 75 points – you must score at least 75 points to avoid a penalty. If you cannot meet or exceed this threshold, you can decrease your penalty by scoring as close to 75 points as possible.
